Sail magazine nominated the Top 10 Best Boats in 2023 and Ohio-based Tartan Marine made the list with its 455 Deckhouse Sloop. According to Wendy Mitman Clarke, Sail’s editor-in-chief, “Tartan’s new model is an intriguing hybrid that sails like a witch and offers true powerhouse perks.”
While the magazine focused on many of the outstanding features of the Tartan 455, we want to add that high-performance marine glass from ProCurve Glass also makes this yacht special. First and foremost, the glass is laminated for safety and security. Its tough bonding interlayer will retain broken glass until replacement can be made.
Additionally, the interlayer filters up to 99% ultraviolet radiation, a major cause of fading of furniture and fabrics. The flat and curved gray glass used throughout the yacht is strong—chemically strengthened to resist breakage and distortion-free. And it helps to keep the inside spaces more comfortable.
