New Marine Opportunity: Servicing Windfarms

The number of large, commercial scale windfarms is expected to increase significantly in the United States over the next ten years. According to the Biden Administration, the 2030 wind power target is 30 gigawatts (GW). We are currently at 0.042 GW.

Senesco Marine

As the windfarm industry grows, so too will opportunities for support vessels to transport technicians and other personnel out to offshore windfarms. Senesco Marine is a boatbuilding company in North Kingston, Rhode Island, ready to serve this need.

Senesco supplied the first CTV to Windserve, the leading supplier of services to the windfarm industry, in 2020. It was built to class requirements and was constructed to DNV GL classification rules. It is a high-speed, custom design vessel that can carry up to 20 passengers and four crew members at a maximum speed of 30 knots.

ProCurve Glass Design

The glass on the CTVs is laminated, and in some cases, insulated to offer safety and improved thermal performance. In addition, ProCurve Glass Design has supplied heated windshields for de-icing and de-fogging.
