How to Remove Stickers from Car Windows

Automotive curved glassDo you have a bunch of stickers scattered all over the windows on your car? If so, there is probably going to come a time when you won’t want them there anymore. When that times comes, there are a couple surefire methods you can use to remove them. Check out how to remove stickers from car windows below.

Use a razor blade to remove stickers from car windows

Using a razor blade is the most reliable way to get rid of stickers on car windows. To do it, you should clean the glass surrounding the stickers and then soak each sticker with glass cleaner. From there, you should use a brand-new razor blade and slide it underneath each sticker while holding it at a 45-degree angle. This should bring the sticker right up and remove it from the glass. If there is any residue from the sticker left behind, you can make a couple more passes at it with the razor blade to remove it completely.

Just one thing to remember: You should never attempt to use a razor blade on glass inside of a car that has tinted windows. You might do some serious damage to the tint if you attempt it.

Tackle the job with an adhesive remover

If you don’t feel up to using a razor blade to remove stickers from your auto glass, there is another option for you. You can clean the glass surrounding the sticker and then apply an adhesive remover over the sticker before allowing it to sit for about 10 minutes. Once that’s finished, you can utilize a plastic scraper to remove the sticker from the surface of your glass. Depending on how strong the adhesive on the sticker is, you might even be able to take it right off with a paper towel. Once you have removed the sticker, you can clean the glass again and bring it to a full shine.

There are some other techniques people employ to remove stickers from auto glass. For example, people swear by using things like WD-40 and baking soda. But these things can cause a mess and won’t always prove to be effective. So, your best bet is using the techniques listed above.
